In these clips from the 1940s Superman radio show, star Bud Collyer gives a surprisingly sensitive performance as the Man of Steel. Also, the radio show gets a jump on the comics, and there's subtext that probably wasn't appreciated by many listeners of the day -- certainly not the intended audience.
