SPRING SUMMER 2017: BEAUTY RELEASES

I cannot keep up with all the new beauty releases!

I decided to make one giant post about all the new things coming to make up stands near you in the near future. I'm excited to see what all the best brands have to offer. Although, I cannot physically allow myself to buy more make up.....can I???

We shall see.....

SPRING SUMMER 2017

CHANEL ENERGIES ET PURETES DE CHANEL (CHANEL LE BLANC) SS17

This is a cute SS17 collection. I'm intrigued by that print on the blusher. The collection is inspired by Eastern pop culture.  That highlighter looks like something I could get involved with too. I'm happy to see a non sponge applicator for it although the palettes feature two awful sponges. I can't get on board on with them. I think for the price paid for a palette of Chanel shades, I would rather get nothing then those.
The blusher is the stand out piece for me in that collection. I think that may be because when you look at Chanel for the coming season, the blusher on the models is the first thing you notice. It's a youthful, flushed glow in a vibrant shade. If this is the product that created that then I am into it.
 GIVENCHY SIGNATURE EYE PALETTE

This is quite a nice smokey eye palette. I'm not feeling the sponge applicators as I much prefer a giant fluffy brush but still, those shimmery chocolate shades are working for me. There are some mattes in here too which is essential for the perfect smokey eye. The palette is based on iced chocolate shades.
MARC JACOBS HIGHLINER GEL EYE CRAYON

MJ is one of those lines that I haven't tried yet but I know I'm going to love. I think this is because when I went to New York, I chose my products poorly and came home with a load of the same old same old. It's really hard to find decent MJ in this country. So therefore, I haven't had a chance to play with it yet.
These are new formulas and shades for SS17. A gel eyeliner in any format is a wonderful thing. I use gel for my eyeliner pencils, eyebrows and also my eyeliner flicks. I find it glides over the skin effortlessly and there are very few tugs, breaks and issues with it. I often recommend gel pencils to people who are sick of harsh pencils. So these are perfect. I'm feeling that intense red shade too. Swoon.

 CLINIQUE CRAYOLA CRAYON STICKS

This is a unique one. I actually think this is a great idea for a collaboration! However, I wouldn't think of Clinique as the brand to do it. I would be interested to know how opaque these are. They are based on the best selling chubby sticks that Clinique make so I am guessing not very. Still, how cute?

I find this a tongue in cheek take on the youtube 'idea' that you can make make up from crayons. This was an 'idea' that caused a lot of outrage from Make Up Artists and Crayola alike. In that it was dangerous and possible just terrible.
The box they come in is incredibly cute AND they are packed with shea butter so super easy to wear.

TOM FORD SHADE AND ILLUMINATE LIPS NEW AND LIMITED EDITION SHADES

I have a 'thing' for Tom Ford products. I am currently collecting all the brushes at the moment as a well deserved treat for myself. I love them so much. I am not allowed to buy any of the make up until I finish my terrible brush hoarding.
This will tell you a lot - I have to have rules about buying Tom Ford.
So these are a dark and a light lip color. I am confused by this as I don't feel these look like lip products and why is there a sponge applicator in there? But apparently there are four new shades to choose from. This collection will also have two new blusher/highlighter combinations to choose from too. I'm a lipstick girl so I am all about choosing the new shades of lipstick over blushers!

 URBAN DECAY NOCTURNAL PALETTE

I do like a good UD palette. Their last palette, Moon Dust, took a while to grow on me. I really didn't like it on first sight. I found the colour choice strange and the texture a bit crumbly for my tastes. However, this changed over time as I swatched and tested a few of the shades. The colors are extremely beautiful and unusual on the skin.
I imagine that with time, I could grow to like it. I think it would be an excellent choice for someone who is new to color and wants to move from a Naked palette to one with colors in it.It could be combined with more neutral colors to give a pop of color rather then a full blown neon effect.
ELIZABETH ARDEN EIGHT HOUR MIRACLE HYDRATING MIST

I am into this. I love a good hydrating mist. I spend my day at work slathering myself in MAC FIX + to make my make up 'sit' right. So this is something I could consider getting involved with. The concept is simple. It delivers extra hydration to help your skin stay hydrated. I also believe eight hour is a make up legend in terms of skincare. It's been around since the 1930s after all. Oh and it's also packed with super ingredients as well:
  • Superfruit Blend (Acai, Goji, Mangosteen, Naoni, Pomegranate and Coffee Seed) - providing antioxidant protection and healty looking skin;
  • Apple Leaf Extract - providing soothing to irritated skin.
You can't argue with coffee anything when it comes to skincare. It really works.
